Skipping ahead: April in Barrington

We’ve just gotten home from our time in Barrington.  Three Rowley generations visiting three generations of cousins.  Our week included: walks in the country; taking in Lord Fairhaven’s home (take a minute to read more about the 900+ year history of Anglesey Abbey) as well as the gardens and mill; lunch in St. Ives; family dinners; pub night at a place that Grandma and Grandpa loved to visit; a visit to Wimpole Hall and property for T and I; knitting; and lots of relaxing and chatting with cocktails and cups of tea (not at the same time).

With such brilliant weather this past week, most of our adventures were outside. So- some England in the spring photos! (You can click on the photos to enlarge them).

Does anyone know what that gorgeous purple flower is?

**EDIT: Thank you so much to my Auntie Mamie for telling me that the flower is a Fritillaria meleagris: a member of the lily family! I’d never seen anything like it. It’s so bold and yet looks so delicate.

And more importantly: family!

We don’t have photos of everyone as we were pretty casual with the camera! It was a fantastic week and T and I will get to see the other side of the family (Grandpa Rowley’s side) for Easter weekend.
